Spring Forward With Massage

Spring is here. The flowers in the garden are blooming yellow, purple, and pink, and the moss is healthy and bright green. We've had some taste of warmer, sunny weather, interspersed with our usual rain. Fortunately, we live in the land of early spring, and not elsewhere in the country where they may still have snow.

Spring is a time for new growth - opening to new possibilities, nurturing yourself, who you are and who you can become.

Embrace the changing season - let go of your winter muscle tension. Relieve your painful joints that have suffered in the cold weather. Invest your tax refund in your health and wellness.

Babies Cry in Their Native Accents

A new study suggests that crying newborn infants may be imitating the melody patterns of the language they heard while still in the womb.

Even infants only a few days old try to mimic the intonation patterns of their parents' language. French babies tended to cry with a rising melody, and German babies cried with a falling melody.

Sleeping Men Don't Hear Babies Cry

A baby crying is the sound most likely to wake up a woman, even if she's not a mother, but it's not even in the top ten for men.

Car alarms, howling wind and even a buzzing fly are more likely to disturb a man's sleep than a crying baby.

The differences were discovered in a study on the importance of a good night's sleep. Disturbed sleep can make you feel exhausted and depressed more than anything else.

Did you know that massage and bodywork can improve your sleep? By helping you to relax, reducing your anxiety, and lowering your blood pressure, massage can help you to achieve deep relaxation that stays with you for days. Massage helps you fall asleep and encourages deep sleep.
